  • Meets with clients to make funeral arrangements, explains service options, assists in casket selection, provides pricing information, and prepares standardized contracts for services.
  • Performs technical and cosmological embalming services.
  • Finalizes details discussed during arrangement conferences with appropriate tracking & compliance documents.
  • Directs funeral services and visitation, including greeting family members, opening parlor, coordinating and instructing pallbearers, greeting and escorting clergy to chapel. May assist with funerals while not acting as primary director or act as hearse or limousine driver when needed.
  • Prepares or coordinates preparation and issuance of permits and documents associated with funerals and embalming. This includes death certificate, permits from coroner, writing embalming case study and others as required.
  • Removes and transports deceased from home or hospital to funeral home.
  • Maintains cleanliness of preparation room and equipment.
  • Performs all other related functions as assigned.
Part Time Funeral Attendant
  • Funeral Home upkeep, (dusting, vacuum etc)
  • Assists in funeral services and visitation including greeting visitors, coordinating pallbearers, arranging transport and parking.
  • Transports individuals
  • Performs all other related functions as assigned.

This position is responsible for ensuring the deceased is handled with the highest degree of care and dignity and that the positive identification of the deceased is maintained throughout the cremation process. The successful candidate will have a current operator's certification, with previous experience in cremation welcomed.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are clean, well maintained and in safe working order
  • Demonstrate proficiency in proper operating procedures
  • Maintain identification integrity throughout the process by following policies and procedures
  • Verify all NorthStar and any state required forms are complete and accurate prior to cremating
  • Handle final preparation of cremated remains and proper packing in the correct container
  • Maintain crematory records including service and maintenance records
  • Archive crematory logs and daily temperature charts as required by your licenses and permits
  • Work with various departments to accomplish tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Ensure the highest degree of care and dignity are afforded to the deceased, and that the cremation will be performed under the strictest of policies and procedures
